Washington D.C. is located in the Potomac Basin between Virginia and Maryland. It is served by the D.C. Water and Sewer Authority (WASA).
There has been controversy regarding the amount of lead in drinking water in Washington. There are some lead service lines (LSL) in Washington. Orthophosphate is added as a corrosion inhibitor to reduce release of lead.
